ABOUT US
We are a karate school that practices and studies Okinawan Goju Ryu in Toronto. Our dojo is a friendly enviroment promoting healthy lifestyle changes through physical education to children, youth and adults. You will not find any discrimination here just a positive, safe and nurturing environment for people to learn and train.

Chojun Miyagi (April 25, 1888 - Oct 8, 1953)
Founder of Goju Ryu Karate do
Goju Ryu (hard - soft style) Karate do (empty hand way) was created by Chojun Miyagi-sensei in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. Miyagi-sensei started his training in Naha te under Kanryo Higaonna at the age of 14, after spending years training under Ryuko Aragaki.
The kata of our style demonstrates its use of linear attacks (hard) with circular movement (soft). Together it creates a blend of striking and grappling, along with developing strength, flexibility, and endurance through body conditioning. Students see positive health benefits like stress reduction and increased lung capacity.
As one of the many treasures of Okinawa, Goju Ryu is recognized by Japan's Dai Nippon Butotukai as a koryu and bujutsu.
