Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū Kenjutsu

Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū, "the way of strategy of two heavens as one" is the school of kenjutsu (swordsmanship) developed by Miyamoto Musashi during the 17th century. This school is known for its use of two swords, the tachi (long sword) and kodachi (short sword) at the same time, but also teaches the single use of the tachi, kodachi, and bo (long staff) through a series of partner forms called seiho.

Through the study and practice of seiho you learn how to move as efficiently as possible using minimum energy for immense results. To acheive this, the study of the seiho and the reading of his treatise on combat, Go Rin no Sho (Book of Five Rings), is key in trying to understand Musashi-sensei’s school of strategy while carrying on his teachings to the next generation.
